At Align San Diego Family Chiropractic, we believe the strongest outcomes for mothers and families happen when care extends beyond the clinic walls. Education, honest conversation, and community support are just as essential as hands-on care. That’s why we’re thrilled to feature Taylor Dewey and Natasha Spaventa, the voices behind the Moms Interrupted Podcast, as upcoming guest speakers at our Inspired Birth Worker’s Alliance (IBWA) Social.

Through their podcast, Taylor and Natasha create space for open, evidence-based, and deeply relatable conversations about birth, lactation, postpartum, matrescence, identity shifts, and the mental load of motherhood—topics that align seamlessly with AlignSD’s mission to support women through every stage of care.

IBWA brings together doulas, midwives, chiropractors, lactation consultants, therapists, mental health professionals, bodyworkers, and other family-centered providers who are passionate about collaborative, relationship-based care.

Our quarterly socials create opportunities for education, connection, and cross-referral throughout San Diego's perinatal and pediatric healthcare community.

Register for our free event on Saturday, October 17th, 2026 HERE!

Taylor & Natasha:

Even with our backgrounds and education, we found motherhood to be harder and more isolating than we ever imagined. That experience became our shared mission: to make motherhood feel less scary—and a lot more fun. That’s how Moms Interrupted was born.

Q: What inspired you to focus on supporting women, children, and families full time?

Taylor & Natasha: Becoming mothers and experiencing firsthand how isolating and difficult it can be inspired us both to pivot our careers. We now focus full time on providing free and accessible information to families to help ease the transformation into motherhood.

Q: What sets Moms Interrupted apart from other motherhood platforms?

Taylor & Natasha: We’re a free educational platform that uses evidence-based practice plus personal experience to make motherhood feel less overwhelming and less isolating.

As lactation and birth educators, we often see misconceptions online—like the idea that educators don’t support hospital births, interventions, or different feeding choices. That’s not true. Our role is to provide unbiased information, sprinkled with our personal experiences in a funny, nonjudgmental way.

We both approach motherhood differently—and we like that. It keeps us realistic, vulnerable, and relatable. Ultimately, nothing we say trumps your intuition as a mother.

Q: What will you be sharing as guest speakers at the IBWA Social?

Taylor & Natasha: We’ll be talking about what mothers actually need versus what culture tells them they should need. We’ll explore the realities of matrescence and identity shifts, supporting moms through overwhelm, guilt, and mental load, and how building community—rather than isolation—changes everything.

We’ll also be sharing lessons we’ve learned from conversations on Moms Interrupted and from our own experiences navigating motherhood.

Q: How do you empower mothers to advocate for themselves in healthcare settings?

Taylor & Natasha: We empower our audience by giving them knowledge they might not otherwise have access to—especially during tender seasons of motherhood. That includes education on birth and lactation preparation and how to advocate for yourself in a hospital setting. When mothers feel informed, they feel more confident making decisions that align with their values.

Q: What are you most excited about building next?

Taylor & Natasha: We’re working on a lot of exciting things in 2026—free San Diego resource lists, birth plan templates, an “on-call” line for free lactation advice, guest collaborations on the podcast, and expanding into mini birth and lactation classes through the show. Our website also launches in January 2026.
