Dr. Bonnie Fischer

The Milk & Motherhood Circle is here to provide you with valuable guidance and support on your breastfeeding journey. Join us for our monthly, Tuesday morning, in-person support group.

Our mission is to welcome all who need help in breastfeeding or who want to join our baby feeding support group in a non-judgmental space with guidance, love for creating strong family bonds, and compassion. Whether you're an expectant parent or a new mom, you'll be able to share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others.

This support group is for parents who:

  • Want to check in on breastfeeding/pumping/chestfeeding
  • Are experiencing nipple or breast/chest pain
  • Whose baby is fussy when latching or nursing
  • Experiencing frustration with latching
  • Are unsure if their baby is getting enough
  • Whose baby is showing a bottle preference
  • Are going back to work
  • Are experiencing and doubting their body’s ability to produce milk
  • Feel their body is producing too much milk
  • Are experiencing any doubt or frustration with breastfeeding
  • Whose baby is supplementing or has dropped in weight

In these sessions, you can expect to learn:

  • The early signs of your baby's readiness to feed
  • How often your breastfed baby should eat
  • How much your baby should eat at each feeding
  • Why human milk fed babies eat at different intervals than formula fed babies
  • How to know if your baby would benefit from a cranial and oral assessment to help improve latch and nursing
  • The basics of pumping
  • What's normal vs abnormal for breast tissue/nipple symptoms
  • How to make adjustments for comfortable positioning for both mom and baby to improve optimal latch for better milk transfer and less nipple pain
  • Tools for treating nipple pain and wounds
  • How doing weighted feedings at our sessions will help you assess how much milk baby takes from the breast

This support group also aims to help parents:

  • Feel supported amongst her peers
  • Gain confidence in feeding their baby, no matter if it's at breast, chest, or bottle
  • Create new relationships in her community
  • Feel seen, heard, and know that they are not alone!

Sessions are guided by Ruth Hale, IBCLC & Doula, founder of Birth to Breast and held in the healing reception space at Align San Diego Family Chiropractic. Ruth has extensive experience supporting families around their lactation journeys and offers a holistic and embodied approach to her services. Dr. Bonnie Fischer, D.C., perinatal & infant chiropractor and owner of AlignSD, is also available to all attendees to answer questions about infant cranial, oral & spinal restriction patterns that could be interfering with your baby's ability to nurse successfully.

Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to gain valuable insights and support for your breastfeeding journey. Join us at our next Milk & Motherhood Circle. We can’t wait to see you there!
